This morning the wind woke me
stirring restlessly through
the tree branches
encouraging their leaves to dance
to the melodies of bird songs
in a spotlight of orange sunrise
while the mountains guarded the scene
like the precious treasure it is
and me
filled with gratitude
to be a participant in this day
