The Winds of Change

The Winds of Change

Sometimes as your life changes, you open up new spaces to let in new people, new experiences, new inner strength—all that may not have happened if everything stayed the same.

Observing nature and the natural cycles of the seasons for instance, change is a constant. Flowers develop, bloom and die. Leaves start out green, then orange, then brown, then crumble into the Earth regenerating the soil. Humans obviously go through a lifetime of physical changes too that are readily observed. But what about the mental changes one experiences as a natural consequence of evolution?

One’s life experiences and how one reacts to them is a combination of personal choice and also how our past experiences influence those choices.

If something helped you in the past to get through a situation, when a similar situation comes up again, you may access the knowledge of what worked before or what didn’t work before.

Over time, and if one is truly willing to be open to growing and learning from life experiences, the essence of what is vital and what can be let go of becomes clearer. As you strengthen in yourself, using your internal wisdom, you will have no need for people and situations that hurt you, as an example. You will then find it almost effortless to release these negative and downgrading elements into the universe.

Imagine those negative elements as specs of dust that you see clearly floating in the light. You will notice them but find them unimportant because you are focusing on the greater beauty before your eyes.

The fact that your life is in a state of constant physical and emotional change is a realization that is difficult to embrace at times, especially when you are not in control of the change, like the death of a spouse. In these instances especially, change is extraordinarily challenging. Even in the most dire circumstances change is not to be feared because then it overtakes you.

Instead, if you embrace change as a natural force, with all the aspects of grief and happiness and many other emotions in between, you will be like the wind, carrying the past on your wings as you move forward.
