The backbone of ecstatic joy
is excruciating pain,
the kind that requires the wind
to breathe for you
so your lungs can function
filled with synchronized air
gently moving your awakening

2 Corinthians 12:9

to take the solo stand
awed by the connectivity
of opposites juxtaposed
is the dichotomy
experienced at the quarterpoint
of life’s crescendoing experiences
