Inspiring Creativity
Last week I was in Miami, a great place to get inspired. We made the most of the it, exploring art in different venues as a prelude to Art Basel. Wynwood Walls is an outdoor graffiti gallery of fantastical street art and an oasis for cutting-edge creativity! In super-life size depictions, political, social, religious and fashion statements explode in vibrant colors that transform thought. We spent several hours exploring this vibrant galaxy of creations and the lively neighborhood where it resides.
Next day’s adventures led us to explore more traditional galleries in the Miami Design District and near Lincoln Road. There was nothing “traditional” about the art we discovered. The intersection of mediums from shells to found-objects for instance inspired so many thoughts about repurposing and how one thing can become another.
Our next inspiring art outing was “Superblue Miami.” Located directly across from the Rubell Museum near downtown Miami in the Allapattah neighborhood, Superblue’s inaugural exhibition, “Every Wall is a Door” features artists Es Devlin, teamLab and James Turrell creating immersive light, video and sound experiences inviting us to embark on a multi-sensory journey through installations that are as visually spectacular as they are thought-provoking.
Miami’s dynamic art scene is incredible, and was like a vitamin shot of mega inspiration. Near or far, stepping out of your daily routine, exploring art, food, music, dance…whatever you wish, will surely ignite your own creative superpowers!
