Creating and Re-Creating Yourself Throughout Your Life

Creating and Re-Creating Yourself Throughout Your Life

We have all heard the expression that ” he re-created himself” or “she re-invented her life,”maybe you are one of those who have. I actually think that we all re-create or re-invent ourself many times throughout our lifetime as our circumstances change.  Speaking for myself, I never have intentionally set out to re-create myself. It kind of sounds like doing so would be akin to being in a witness protection program where I had to assume a new identity.  This is definitely not what I mean. But I do believe that as we grow and change the person we were hopefully evolves into a robust manifestation of who we presently are.

Think of yourself, maybe five years ago, and the physical and mental changes you have experienced.  All of these occurrences have changed you, even if the changes are not always apparent to others. Of course if you have experienced a divorce, illness or a death, your life obviously changed dramatically. Perhaps you have moved to a new state or a new home or you have a new job, or even more a new career. Maybe you got married or fell in love or became a parent, and your life changed for the better.  All of these changes, joyful or jolting foster a new version of you.  In most cases, with a big exception being experiencing an illness or death, you have had some level of choice in making your life changes, therefore in recreating your life.  Even if you have experienced the painful loss of death, difficult illness or severe grief, what you eventually do to move forward is your own creation.

Healthy living is truly about creating and from time to time re-creating your best life.  Becoming mentally and physically fit to face life’s challenges and to enjoy the happy, loving life you desire, you will re-create yourself to manifest those desires. There is no requirement that you have to have a life-altering event before starting the process. It is crucial for you to decide that you want to take a new or different path in your life. There is no magic elixir that you can take. Re-creation requires work, sometimes very painful and hard work, but it will be worth it if you put in the time.

When you “re-create” or “re-invent” it is not meant as a total overall but rather a gradual and mindful process.  Re-creating or re-inventing at its core is the wish to learn and the will to experience new outlooks and ways of living as fully as you wish and are able. The innate power we each have to change, grow, and evolve is a key component to creating and re-creating your life.
