I slept last night
in an apple grove
where the Mackintosh scented air
filled my resting body
reclined on a bed of soft grass
with satisfying sweetness
supporting my peace

but before I closed my eyes
I was struck by the sky
filled with dazzling stars
sparking a thought in my mind
of an imagined soul
yet unidentifiable

days later
seemingly randomly
when I was eating
an apple tart at the cafe
you came to my table
you said hello,
and from that moment on
my life changed forever

in time,
when I return
to the apple grove
it’s in a different way
sweetly shifted
to us dancing barefooted
on the soft grass
in the Mackintosh scented air
under the dazzling stars
